First of all, I love the packaging and the fact that it’s marketed the way it is… very clever and cute.Secondly, the product itself is good quality, as its lightweight and makes for a good base. It smells lovely but not too overpowering. At the end of the day, my makeup still looked really good after using this primer. Not one of the best I’ve used, as my all-time favorite primer would be Benefit’s POREfessional; but still, I needed another primer and this certainly does the trick.I feel like NYX products are hit-or-miss sometimes. There are some things I really like, but there are other things that I usually just buy once because they weren’t amazing; the latter applies in this case. I’m happy with it, but I know there are much better primers out there… I think I’ll just stick with the one I think is fabulous; however, I will continue to buy NYX cosmetics, as they do make decent quality stuff.

My mother used Oil of Ulay (known as Ulan in other countries), then in the 1990s, the manufacturers unified the brand under one global name – Olay. Back in my mum’s day, Ulay and Ponds were among only a few low-cost face creams on the market. Now there are so many skin care products; how do you choose which one to buy? I stumbled across Maybelline’s Baby Skin Pore Eraser Matte Primer by accident. I had been Googling skin care products and a blog dropped into my news feed. It had rave reviews, so I thought I’d give it a go and was pleasantly surprised. You just need a small amount and it glides on your skin, leaving a smooth non-too-greasy base to apply foundation without pulling or stretching the skin. It goes a long way and leaves your face feeling smooth. Although I like it a lot, it only gets four stars because I cannot say I have noticed my pores being erased, but it’s fab as a primer.

I recently tried the elf Hydrating Face Primer, and I have to say, my experience with it has been a bit mixed. While it didn’t quite meet my personal expectations, I have noticed that my niece absolutely loves it.One of the standout features of this primer is its lightweight formula. It feels incredibly light on the skin, almost as if you’re wearing nothing at all. It doesn’t leave any greasy or heavy residue, which is a big plus for those with oily or combination skin.I also appreciate the hydrating properties of this primer. It does a decent job of moisturizing the skin, leaving it feeling soft and supple. I noticed that it helps to smooth out any dry patches, providing a more even canvas for makeup application.Additionally, this primer claims to fill in pores and fine lines, and while it does a decent job in that regard, I didn’t notice a significant difference in the appearance of my pores or fine lines. It provided a subtle smoothing effect, but not to the extent that I was hoping for.One aspect that I found particularly beneficial was the natural matte finish. It helped to control shine and kept my makeup looking fresh for a longer duration. However, I did find that it emphasized any texture on my skin, such as acne scars or bumps.While I had mixed feelings about this primer, my niece, who has different skin concerns, absolutely loves it. She has dry skin and found that this primer provided the perfect amount of hydration for her. It also helped to prolong the wear of her makeup and created a smooth base for foundation.In conclusion, the elf Hydrating Face Primer is a lightweight and hydrating option that provides a natural matte finish. While it didn’t completely meet my personal expectations in terms of pore-filling and line-smoothing abilities, it has proven to be a great fit for my niece’s dry skin. If you have similar skin concerns, this primer may be worth a try.

I’ve tried quite a few eye primers in my day mainly because I tend to have oily eyelids. I don’t particularly wear a lot of eye makeup so I’m not coating my eyes with a lot of different layers of eyeshadows like some Youtubers will do but having said that, I believe that whether you use a little makeup or a lot, I feel that your eyelids can still benefit from using an eye primer.I actually just use a matte foundation (Revlon Colorstay for Combo Skin) on my forehead area and I bring it down around my brows and down onto my eyelids and then a little under my eyes around my lashes just so that I have an even matte type of look. My skin is clear enough that I don’t need to use foundation to even things out on the rest of my face. After I lightly blend some foundation onto those aforementioned areas with my fingers (yes that’s right, I don’t need nor do I use a brush or a sponge for that), I will take a very small dab of eye primer (and I mean the size of one of those sewing pins that has a rounded ball tip on it) and I put some on my left middle finger and then I take my right middle finger and tap them together to evenly disperse the product on my fingers and then I take my left finger and tap my left eyelid while my right finger taps my right eyelid and I lightly go over each eyelid. I then put a light dusting of pressed translucent powder (Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless) onto my eyelids and forehead to set everything. I mostly don’t use eyeshadow but when I do that would be the next step. Anyhow, after that, I put on my gel eye liner with a brush and then I add some mascara (Essence Lash Princess) and I call my eyes done. Later on in the evening when I remove my eye makeup which is a good 12-14 hours later, I always take a good look at my eyelids and I check and double check and honestly they are ALWAYS set perfectly where there is no oil or creasing of any kind. It literally looks like I just did my eye makeup. THAT is a testament to how good this product is. It reminds me so much of the Tarte one that I loved.In the past I’ve used Milani’s eye primer in the little grey tube with the black lid but unfortunately it creased on my eyes even with my simple makeup routine, so whether or not I used eyeshadow, it didn’t matter because my eyelids would crease and/or look oily. Didn’t really get any success with one of the ELF eye primers. It was the wand in a tube type. This was years ago so I can’t remember the full name of it…Up until now my holy grail eye primer was the Tarte Cosmetics Clean Slate 360 Creaseless 12-Hour Smoothing Eye Primer but naturally the company discontinued it (insert very angry eye roll). I then tried the NYX Proof It Eyeshadow Primer (note: the black and white tube and packaging looked almost identical to the NARS eye primer which BTW, I have not tried and is still available AND very pricey) and I loved that and used that for a good long while but unfortunately that company also discontinued that eye primer. WTH? Anyway, I also moved on and tried and liked the Hard Candy Eye’s The Limit Eyeshadow Primer in the tube and happily used that and as far as I know, it’s still available online here and there. It’s really close to the Tarte and NYX eye primers.So, fast forward to me browsing around the internet to see what’s out there and I noticed the reviews and packaging of the Elizabeth Motte Thank Me Later Eye Primer. My curiosity got me. I like that it comes in a tube. I do like the little wand/.brush in the NYX packaging but if I had to pick one over the other I would go for my eye primer being in the soft squeeze type of tube component.***I’m editing this to explain why I prefer a soft squeeze tube. One of the reasons is that on two separate occasions, my NYX Proof It Eye Primers fell out of my bathroom cabinet and onto the floor, shattering the bottoms of the plastic components. One of them was about 1/3 full so there was a good amount of product left while the other one was newly opened so it was nearly full of primer product and such a waste. Both were unsalvageable because of the condition of the cracked and damaged plastic. Secondly, I feel that the squeezability of a soft tube helps you control what comes out, thus being able to squeeze out a round pin-tip sized amount, a pea sized amount or something even larger etc.. You also have to consider that anything with a wand inadvertently forces some amount of air into the product every time you open it and close it. In my opinion, soft tubes have such a small opening that the amount of air that can seep into the product when you open the cap is virtually nil.I noticed a review somewhere where someone was using eyeshadow/eyelid primer and they said it was sticky or too oily for their eyelids and their eyelids creased and I just have to think of how people tend to overuse things. A little dab will do you. For example, I saw one Youtuber putting on concealer over top of her eyelids and under her eyes etc and it looked like she was icing a cake. And then she blotted it with a damp sponge so yes, some of it was removed and melded into the sponge but I found it to be too excessive for a smooth finish. So, before you knock a product, try using it in different ways just to see if you’re over using it etc…I love the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Primer and I am hoping like heck she doesn’t discontinue it…my little heart can’t take much more…lol

Bought as my usual elf product wasn’t available not as silky as elf but still good and lasts longer than elf which runs out far too soon for price

I use this paired with the fit me foundation. It absolutely blurs my pores and has a bit of a sticky texture to help the foundation stick. It also has spf in it which makes it even better for my skin!

I’ve been a MAC girlie for years…I wanted to get a non-liquid for travel and MAC was out of the colour I use in their stick version so when I stumbled on this brand, I gave it a try. I’m now converted! It’s so creamy and doesn’t cake at all. For reference, I’m in my early 50’s and have to be very careful with foundation. I love everything about this foundation. A little setting spray and it stays put all day!

I have been impressed with this primer as a dark skinned woman I have found this to be silky on application to the skin but then absorbs quite quickly without leaving any residue.As the day progresses it transforms to your complexion leaving a stunning glow! Not too much illumination – just right for that for that little extra something.I have been using this now for 14 days and have had several compliments about my perfect makeup and overall skin texture.I would definitely recommend to purchase.

I’m 66 years old. I’m hoping not to look 66 years old. I happened up on some face primer a few years ago quite by accident (another story- another time) anyway…I tried it under regular make up. What is this clear magic in this tube? I had to find more. This poor old 66 year old face needed it. I order this product, but get the 400. There is a difference I found out. I put it on, let it sink in as I curl my hair, then finish up working on my face. I asked my niece? Ever heard of this slick primer stuff? Yep she said. My only question was; why didn’t you tell me???

Incredible for oily skin keeps the oil at bay, I’m 7 hours in today and no shine or makeup touch up!! This primer is unreal!!! I don’t find it tacky at all and use the smallest amount in the mornings but over a moisturised face

I just purchased it and I was a little surprised to see how small the bottle was. I mean I should have read that it was only one ounce, but still…Anyway, I tried it on and I was very pleasantly surprised. It spread very easily, almost like a watery lotion or serum, so I didn’t use much. It had a very mild scent of coconut which was in no way offensive, and not that sunscreen-smell if you know what I mean, which I hate. I’ll say it: I hate wearing sunscreen because no matter what it says on the tube (oil-free, light-weight, non-greasy, dry to touch, etc.) I always get that heavy, white, smelly sunscreen on my face that I can’t forget I’m wearing because it won’t let me to. That’s why I chose this primer. I thought it would be a different experience and it turns out I was right! I don’t care that it was $17 for one ounce anymore. I’m using retinol, vitamin C, and Ferulic Acid so I’m extra sensitive to the sun and I feel protected with this and I it let’s me forget that I’m wearing anything because of how it feels. So excited to keep using this.

I tried several different primers before finding this one. I admit that I don’t wear a lot of makeup and I don’t like to buy expensive products. The ones I tried were oily and didn’t seem to help my problem of foundation settling into my larger pores now that I’m over 50. I originally bought this in a store after having the salesperson suggest a primer for me. I love this one! It’s not greasy and definitely helps minimize the look of my pores. A little goes a long way and I tend to first apply to the areas where my pores show the most, then blend a little out to other areas of my face (not really covering my entire face much). I use a moisturizer, then this primer, then my usual foundation. I also love that it doesn’t cost a lot!

I had Tatcha silk canvas primer and never could successfully use it because it pills. Did my research and found Marshmallow Primer. Wow! First, it is fun to start beauty routine with smelling good product! It is double fun to start with something girlie pink! Most importantly, it is simply perfect. The bottle spits out just enough of it, there is no risk to push out too much. The primer is buttery soft, very creamy, and appears kind of whipped and airy while being dense at the same time. It goes into skin very fast leaving a well hydrated feeling. It does not feel clogging. Veeeeery smooooth. I put it on my eyelids and it works as a charm. DOES NOT PILL!!! I let it sit for 10-15 minutes before applying makeup. Makeup goes on smoothly. All day long no problem. I am looking forward to using it daily. Will repurchase!

I like this product a lot. It comes I’m a decent size for the price too compared to other primers. Great pore minimizing and moisturizing product. It has a matte finish. Fragrance free, so good for my sensitive skin. More like a moisturizer consistency, rather than just a silicone primer. It worked well with both my foundation and concealer. I definitely recommend it.

After reading reviews i thought i would try this i am so happy i did. It’s silky smooth on your face and soaks in quick with no tacky after feeling. I used it without make up as i wanted to try it quick. Will def be using this all the time now 👍👍👍

Excellent product. Makes make-up glide over your face. I don’t know why it’s touted as a pore minimizer. For me it’s the perfect foundation primer. A very small amount goes a long way. I definitely recommend this as a primer.

This primer is good, my skin feels like it also and the makeup base after is perfect looks I don’t worry when I need to meet people because this primer is very friendly with a powder base and soft powder.

This is the first time i have used this product. I only bought because my one that i have used the last several years is no longer being made (Macy’s). This was a really good price so thought i would give it a try.Very smooth, and i love that it has just enough tint in it that I don’t need to wear foundation out and about on weekend days.Will definitely continue to ordeer.

I love how smoothly this primer goes on. My makeup stays on all day long when I use this before application. I have very sensitive skin, and other primers I have tried have broken my skin out. This one does not do that. I am almost done with my second bottle of this and will continue to purchase from here on out.

I use this as a concealer, particularly below my eyes. I like it because it builds in layers and looks smooth and natural.

I have mature skin and was concerned that this primer would lack moisturizing. I could not be more wrong. For years, I have always worn expensive moisturizers under my makeup. I would rely on face powders to “set” my makeup. Using this primer, my skin does not dry out, my pores appear smaller, and my makeup last and I have a more translucent look. Who knew something so inexpensive as this could deliver such results. Thank you ELF!
